WHAT IS Body Blaze?

Body Blaze is a full body workout which blends Circuit Training and High Intensity Interval Training to create the ultimate strength building calorie burn. Each class is different, but all sessions are designed to keep your heart rate high, while you build full body strength. Each session may utilize a plethora of equipment from dumbbells, kettlebells, ropes, assault bikes, jumprope, benches, and more! These tools and programming are expertly designed to get you out of your head, and into your workout.  

WHY SHOULD I TRY Body Blaze?

If you struggle with distance running and endurance, body blaze offers a more dynamic and fast paced programming, to allow you to improve your cardiovascular fitness with short bouts of near max effort. The sessions variability will keep you and your body guessing, improving your overall fitness while keeping you engaged and entertained with your training. This session is also perfect for those looking to break up their endurance training, while maintaining their cardiovascular fitness. Last but not least, with shortened recovery times, this is often one of our best calorie burning sessions, and is a must add if you’re focused on toning up and trimming down.  

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

The benefits of high intensity interval training are well established in scientific literature. HiiT may even halt ageing on a cellular level! In a 2014 study, a group of overweight or obese sedentary adults did 3 workouts per week, for a total of 30 mins of exercise. Each workout included high intensity bursts of 20 seconds. Even with that shortened efforts, participants saw improvements in their VO2 max. ThiIn another study, participants were split into 2 groups, with one working out for 10 mins(in high intensity intervals), and another for 50 mins(at a continuous pace), remarkably, both groups saw the same improvement to their oxygen uptake. The meaning of these findings is simple, high intensity interval training is the best way to increase your cardiovascular capacity and health in minimal time!

As for the strength aspect of this session, every kilo of muscle burns roughly twelve calories per day at rest, which is about 3x as many calories as a kilo of fat. This can mean you burn more calories even while lying in bed!
