Pain
Over 90% of people will experience back pain at some point in their life and almost every single person will experience some type of joint pain at some stage as well. So, that could very well be you. Whilst back pain is complex and almost always multifactorial, our team take a holistic approach to managing your pain and use the biopsychosocial model to gain a greater understanding of your pain, your perception and response to it. We then design a program that is client-centered and work with you to correct any functional issues that you may have. From here, most of the time, pain then comes back to your perceived capacity and movement capability and we walk the journey with you to assist you in understanding your body and how to manage your symptoms.

It is known that exercise can not only help to reduce the severity of those conditions but, when combined with other mindfulness and wellness practices, can reverse them when applied consistently and in a way that fits in with your life. We understand that the thought of exercise can, at times, create more stress than it alleviates, so we will work very closely with you to ensure that you are the centre of the decision-making process at all times to ensure that you are engaging in a health and wellbeing program that works to reduce your stress and anxiety, not increase it. From there, when applied well, your depression should, over time, become much more manageable.

An appropriate and guided exercise program, delivered by an Exercise Physiologist, can help to prevent and delay the worsening symptoms related to your condition. The evidence for exercise in the management of neurological disease is growing by the year and when combined with an appropriate health and wellbeing program can achieve profound results. Starting at the baseline, and taking a very simple graded and progressive approach, we will ensure that you are fully involved in the decision-making progress around how to manage your condition and how we will progress you through the program to ensure that you are achieving the best possible outcome.

Working alongside any other Allied Health Professionals in your team, we take the greatest care in designing your strength and conditioning program to ensure that it is appropriate for you given where you are at in the treatment cycle. If your injury is an old one, and you just need help to make sure that you are engaging in the right type of exercise for your body as it is today, we can help with that too. At times the best type of program is simply the one that your body will allow you to do and we will work closely with you to ensure that you are doing exactly that.
